Trades District

Brand Development + Visual Identity

Project Story: Creating a visual identity for The Trades District meant capturing both purpose and possibility. This small business complex redevelopment project, initiated by the Central Douglas Regional Port Authority in collaboration with Design West Architects, aims to provide accessible production spaces for emerging businesses while fostering entrepreneurial growth in North Central Washington.

Our Approach: Working closely with stakeholders, we developed a brand identity system that balances professionalism with accessibility. The visual language needed to speak to diverse audiences – from specialty trades to retail businesses – while maintaining a cohesive and forward-thinking aesthetic that reflects the project's innovative spirit.

Purpose: The identity system supports The Trades District's mission to create an inclusive business environment, particularly focusing on underserved entrepreneurs and Latino-owned startups. Through thoughtful design choices, we helped establish a visual foundation that communicates both opportunity and reliability.
